It's not about that. It's about corruption and the cartels control everything because even if you don't want to be bought and paid for, they will threaten your families.
Mexico and the USA has a parasitic relationship, and they both feed off of each other. And with that much money being made by cartels, they rule over Mexico. It's not going to change anytime soon, regardless of who is in power there.
Dont blame that on the current president and is political party this issues go way back before mr amlo took over and is cleaning what previous presidents left the country in caos.

Apples and oranges comparison. The cartels are much more organized, well funded, and have a firm grip on parts of the Mexican government and the army with well sustained bribes.
Comparing 6 million to 127 million is crazy. Also i don't think you understand the size of Mexico. I'm not saying Mexico cant do more but still huge difference in population and sizes of the country. Dont compare apples and oranges.

This ain’t something new at all.
In Celaya Guanajuato there have been i think 16 police officers murdered just since the beginning of rhe year. Also in the news today, 2 ambulance drivers in Celaya were killed for eefusing to give medical attention to cartel members and three ambulances were set afire.
Celaya is now the most dangerous city in the world per capita murders, ovettaking Tijuana. .
Most of the killings are occuring in Mexican Michoacán and Guerrero. My guess is these are transit routes or areas that the cartel works in and they need a Mayor that isnt goinfg to jeopardize their profits. Many of these mayors im sure were warned that if they continued to run or keep their office they were going to meet their end. Its very sad and upsetting. However these cartels I hear are very powerful and so AMLO has been hessitant to take them because hed rather make Mexico institutions stronger in order to take on the cartel. Mexico is taking control of the country in many right directions but the cartel problem needs to be addressed asap.
